Secant Pile Wall System

Secant pile walls are constructed by drilling overlapping vertical shafts and backfilling them with lean concrete. In alternate shafts a steel pile section is installed and the lean concrete provides soil retention between piles. The system can be installed in almost any soil conditions and provide water cutoff as well as excavation support. Lateral bracing is often required as these systems are generally used for deeper excavations. The design provided for these walls will detail the secant piles and lateral bracing.
